Elixir Distillers is a creator, blender and bottler of fine spirits. Description
Bottled in 2023. When it reached 40 years of age, we felt the whisky had the right balance between fruit, sherry and wood influence.
1983 is actually the favourite vintage of Sukhinder Singh from the legendary 1980s Karuizawa vintages. We, at Elixir Distillers, nurtured this cask till bottling as it was one of the best we had.
Currently sitting in 70cl plain glass awaiting a special project.
Tasting notes:
Dark Colour. This is a big whisky, tobacco, 90% cocoa dark chocolate, plums, dark macerated cherry, mango, fine oriental wood spice, balsamic. Palate is cough medicine with cherry, plums, dates, figs, mango, cigars, pipe tobacco, teriyaki sauce, liquorice, molasses, wood shavings. Finish is long and intense, herbal, heavy wood but integrated with the fruit, very complex.
